Architect, Problem Solver, Photographer, Aspiring Writer and Community Builder
status: surviving capitalism & building pouch

I'm Kweku Ayepah. I architect scalable systems for a living and spend too much time chasing golden-hour light.

Architect & Problem Solver · Accra, Ghana

This space is where I write about whatever's currently occupying my mind. Sometimes that's a distributed systems problem I'm solving at work. Other times it's a photograph I took, a community initiative I'm leading, or a reflection on navigating a career in African tech.

I've spent years working in fintech — building core banking integrations, middleware infrastructure, and the systems that make it possible to move money across banks and mobile money wallets across the continent. Before that, I cut my teeth across different engineering roles, transitioning from .NET to JavaScript/TypeScript — a move that taught me as much about adaptability as it did about type systems.

What I write about

Software Engineering

Building systems that scale in the African fintech context. Temporal workflows, core banking, middleware design, and the messy reality of production systems.

Photography

Mostly landscapes, mostly during golden hour. I'm drawn to the way light moves across the Ghanaian landscape — coastlines, hills, city skylines at dusk.

Community

I'm a community builder at Sandbox Reseau — fostering collaboration, mentoring, and trying to make the path a little clearer for the next generation of builders and creators.

Building Things

Side projects like Pouch (the future of payments) and the Beyond L3 podcast (deep engineering conversations) keep me learning outside the day job.

Now

Building Pouch. Co-creating the Beyond L3 podcast. Growing Sandbox Reseau. Exploring padel. Writing when there's something worth saying.

Connect

I'm always open to conversations about African fintech, engineering culture, or just interesting ideas. Reach me at kweku.ayepah@gmail.com or find me on X.
